Handling of parentheses
0

There should be an option specific to each paper that allows us to select whether to read what is inside parenthesis or not (current default). In some cases, what is inside parenthesis is vital, but currently we cannot use audemic on those papers because that content will be skipped.

Settings for automatic order of reading
0

It would be nice to have some settings for automatic order of reading. For instance, I typically skip abstract, read intro, skim methods, skim results then read discussion. I recognize that skimming isn’t a option but perhaps a customizable auto priority reading order where i could set it to naturally go straight into the in...

View the pdf while listening
0

It would be awesome if it was possible to use the audemic listening while looking at the uploaded pdf. Easier to get a sense of what is happening in the paper and how it is structured then.

Show figures inline or in separate section(s)/tab(s)
1

When listening to a paper, it would be great if I could easily pause, look at the figure(s) in an image view that supports the normal pan/zoom gestures on my phone, and then resume listening. Currently I need to leave audemic to look at figures.

Maximum playback speed to be set at 3x

The option to increase the playback speed to 3X the normal speed

Upload papers from Google Drive

Integration to upload papers from Google Drive to Audemic.

More options for colour palette

Specifically white background + black text

An option to turn off auto read of table descriptions
0

Same can be said for in depth results especially related to figures or tables. When I am listening often I am not looking directly at the table so the descriptions are meaningless. Likewise what takes 5-10 min for machine to read I can understand (assuming well designed figures) in a matter of seconds.

Either read them or at least skip computation/formulation

Specifically for for computer science research papers.

Allow the option to read in-text citations aloud
0

I encounter many sentences in the papers I read that include an author's name as part of the text (e.g. Name and Name (2019) described the phenomena as unexpected.) - the voice skips reading anything that looks like a reference or in-text citation, so all I hear is "described the phenomena as unexpected." without the importan...

See the highlights on the screen while listening along with adding to the boards

It would be awesome if we could see the highlights on the screen itself while listening to the article like we are reading and highlighting on the pdf

Edit uploaded Title, Authors names and Year.
0

It would be great if there were the possibility to edit the name of the uploaded PDF's and Authors. After a while, it is difficult to find some, as the recognized title is not always good.

Make it possible to move notes on boards
3

Under Review

Would be super useful to be able to move around and rearrange highlights on boards. I use it to help me organize research for project presentations and this would help people who are visual learners to put together the narrative that they are presenting more cohesively rather than feeling as if I am just looking at a pool of ...

Natural bookmarking
0

Easy accessibility (natural bookmarking): One of my articles stopped a few minutes into the main body (maybe 5 pages?), and just started to express static. When I went out and came back, it started from the beginning, so I gave up.

Half-Bold

Add half bold in the accessibility fonts. I find it just as useful if not more useful than the dyslexia font

Add support to read from url with html

Define words by right-clicking
0

It would be helpful, especially for students, to be able to retrieve the definition of a word by right-clicking. It could be on the same menu as "highlight" but only available if a single word is highlighted. The definition could populate on a side-panel, as a chat bubble, or something similar.

Add notes by audio
0

I use Audemic only for commuting to work, mostly by bicycle. I would often like to add notes as I listen to certain points, but it is not feasible to type while I am commuting. Please add an option to add notes by voice. This would primarily mean saving audio notes, though speech-to-text would be a nice option, maybe for late...
